Pafos Zoo

Set in a lush and unspoilt environment, Pafos Zoo is the largest licensed zoo in Cyprus and home to an impressive variety of birds and animals from around the world. It also hosts one of the largest collections of parrots and venomous snakes in Europe.

Offering a memorable wildlife experience, Pafos Zoo is a popular attraction for both locals and visitors. Covering 100,000 square metres of land, with lakes, ponds and landscaped gardens, it creates a relaxing setting where families can connect with nature. Visitors can discover giraffes, monkeys, meerkats, crocodiles, kangaroos, albino wallabies, mouflon, white lions, tigers and many more fascinating species. At certain times of the year, the zoo also presents its well-known parrot and owl show in a large auditorium.

Family Cycling

Cyprus is a natural haven for cycling, and the landscapes surrounding Pafos offer varied terrain with hidden gems waiting to be discovered along every route. With more than 150 cycling routes, the region is ideal for both experienced mountain bikers and families who wish to explore at a gentler pace. Thanks to the island’s exceptional climate, cycling in Pafos can be enjoyed almost all year round, while bicycles are available for rent at many locations across the region.

Note: General traffic regulations are similar to those in Europe; however, driving in Cyprus is on the left, as in the United Kingdom, and not on the right. Cyclists are advised to avoid main roads during weekends, especially in summer, when traffic can be heavier due to the increased number of visitors.

Cyclists should also avoid riding west in the late afternoon, as the strong glare of the setting sun can be both uncomfortable and potentially dangerous. Protective eyewear and sunhats are recommended, particularly during the summer months.

Amusement Parks

Set within peaceful surroundings of lush greenery and beautiful ponds, Ithaki Amusement Park and Mini Golf offers a fun and relaxing experience for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy the multi-level adventure golf course, crossing small streams and bridges along the way, discover modern arcade games as well as classic favourites, take a ride on the bumper cars and let children enjoy outdoor play in the dedicated area with swings and slides.

Children’s playgrounds across Pafos offer young visitors the chance to enjoy the outdoors, interact with other children and create a natural connection with play and discovery. Many hotels and resorts in the region provide well-designed playgrounds, helping families enjoy relaxing holidays where children can stay active, social and entertained.

The Pafos Region also offers a variety of Luna Parks and entertainment centres for all ages, with indoor and outdoor activities to suit different interests. Most venues do not charge an entrance fee, although payment is usually required per activity. One of the main Luna Parks in Pafos is located in the Geroskipou area, close to the Municipal Beach, offering an enjoyable outdoor setting with beautiful coastal views.

Originally created to provide shelter and veterinary care for the Cyprus donkey, Kelokedara Donkey Farm has become a popular visitor attraction that captures the authentic spirit of rural Cyprus. Set in a beautiful and unspoilt countryside location, it combines Cypriot hospitality, nature, fun, adventure and traditional flavours, making it a memorable family outing.

The farm covers 19 hectares of scenic landscape, rich in plants and wildlife, offering an ideal setting for nature lovers. Located approximately 30 km east of Pafos, in the Xeros River Valley, Kelokedara Donkey Farm gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy a donkey ride through riverbeds and country tracks, while taking in the peaceful surroundings and glimpses of local shepherds with grazing sheep and goats. Professional staff supervise the rides at all times, ensuring both safety and comfort.

Visitors can also enjoy a distinctive gastronomic experience, tasting local delicacies such as halloumi cheese, shoushouko, a traditional chewy sweet made from grape juice, village bread, olives, cucumbers and other home-grown products, accompanied by local wine and Cyprus’ renowned spirit, zivania.
