Cyprus is a natural haven for cycling. The areas surrounding Pafos offer varied terrain with lots of small gems waiting to be discovered along every route. The region has over 150 cycling routes for both serious mountain-bikers and family cyclists for exploration. Cycling in Pafos is enjoyable almost all year round, largely due to the island’s exceptional weather. Bicycles are available for rent at numerous locations throughout the Pafos Region.
Note: General traffic regulations correspond to those in Europe, however driving in Cyprus is on the left (as in the United Kingdom), and not on the right. It is advisable to avoid cycling along main routes on the weekends, especially in the summer when traffic congestion is high due to the number of tourists visiting the island.
Cyclists should also avoid riding west in the late afternoon, as the harsh glare of the setting sun is both unpleasant and potentially dangerous. It is advisable for cyclists to wear protective eye gear and sunhats, especially during the summer months.
