The Pafos Region is celebrated for its sun-drenched beaches, crystal-clear waters and beautiful Mediterranean coastline. Across the district, visitors can enjoy 27 public beaches, 18 of which have been awarded the iconic Blue Flag in recognition of their high environmental, safety and quality standards. With its captivating natural beauty, Pafos is an inviting destination for swimming, scuba diving and snorkelling throughout the year.
Blue flag beaches
Pure water, clean coasts, safety, and access for all. The Pafos Region is home to numerous Blue Flag-awarded beaches, reflecting their excellence in environmental education, management, water quality, safety, and services.
The Blue Flag is a world-renowned eco-label operated under the auspices of the Foundation for Environmental Education and is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. To qualify for this prestigious award, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety-related, and access-related criteria must be met and maintained.
There are 18 Blue Flag beaches in the region
The Pafos Region features 18 Blue Flag-awarded beaches, renowned for their water quality, cleanliness, and safety. Three of the beaches are in the Polis sub-region, while seven beaches have upgraded their facilities to accommodate for wheelchair users.
Alykes Beach
Alykes Beach is a quaint, sandy beach situated close to a variety of hotels in the Kato Pafos tourist area. The quality of the water is tested on a regular basis, and the beach is cleaned daily. Water sports, sunbeds and umbrella hire are available on site during the warmer months of the year (April 15 – October 31). Lifeguards are on duty during the summer period and are equipped with first aid medical supplies.

Coral Bay
Coral Bay is one of the most popular sandy beaches in the Pafos Region suitable for families, young people, and couples. A unique bay and tourist resort, Coral Bay features a multitude of facilities and services including onsite bathrooms, showers, changing rooms, sunbeds, umbrellas, and a plethora of water sports (windsurfing, hang-gliding, jet skis and parasailing). During the summer months, many beach parties are also held at the beach attracting thousands of visitors.

Geroskipou Municipal beach
Geroskipou Municipal Beach is a hub of activity that features everything from water sports and sporting tournaments, to concerts and open-air movie nights. The beach’s deep golden sands, clean, calm, and shallow waters make it a popular choice for all, including families and children.
Geroskipou Municipal Beach features a multitude of facilities and services including onsite bathrooms, showers, changing rooms, sunbeds, umbrellas, and a children’s playground. There are also restaurants, fish taverns, cafes, bars, kiosks, convenience stores and popular nightclubs nearby.

Kafizis is mainly a sandy beach with very few rocks. It is situated in Pegeia and easily reached by bus, car, motorbike or bike. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available during the summer months. Lifeguards are usually on duty from April 15 – October 31. First aid medical supplies and life saving equipment are available by the lifeguard on duty.

- Timi – Mandria offers a long stretch of sandy and pebbled coastline, located east of Pafos International Airport.
- The beach near Pafos International Airport is a natural and unspoilt coastal area, well known for turtle conservation.
- The beaches west of Pafos International Airport, leading towards Pafos Town, are located within the tourist developed area and are Blue Flag-awarded.
- The beaches between Pafos and Cape Drepano are also within the tourist developed area and are Blue Flag-awarded.
- Agios Georgios Beach, also known as Fisherman’s Bay, is a small sandy beach with some development potential.
- From Cape Drepano to Lara Beach, long sandy shores unfold within a protected natural environment. These beaches are especially known for their importance in turtle conservation.
- Between Lara and Cape Arnaoutis, visitors can discover small, secluded rocky and sandy beaches, usually ranging from 50 to 100 metres. These beaches are part of Natura 2000, the European Union’s network of protected natural areas.
- From Cape Arnaoutis to the Baths of Aphrodite, small and secluded rocky and sandy beaches also range from 50 to 100 metres. Among the best known are Fontana Amorosa and the pebbled beach near the Baths of Aphrodite. These beaches are also included in Natura 2000, the European Union’s network of protected natural areas.
- Asprokremmos Beach is a 2 km stretch of pebbled and sandy coastline, suitable for swimming. The Anassa and Aphrodite hotels are located in the area.
- Latchi Beach is a long sandy coastline next to the picturesque Latchi Marina, offering excellent potential for further upgraded development.
