Where to stay

For the lovers of the beauty and tranquility of nature

Rural Accommodation

Rural Accommodation

If you prefer the charm of a quiet rural environment to the hustle and bustle of a tourist resort you can choose to stay in a traditional village house in accommodation known in Cyprus as “Agrotourism”.
These properties consist of traditional village houses that have been renovated. They have modern kitchens and bathrooms and are often furnished with rustic fittings and soft furnishings – many of which are in a traditional weave. Most of the houses have a garden, where you can help yourself to lemons and oranges fresh from the tree, and many also have a swimming pool. It will soon feel like home.

All Agrotourism properties are licensed by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and maintained under the umbrella of the Cyprus Agrotourism Company, an affiliate company of the CTO whose members are the property owners themselves. Such properties are available for rent all year round and are ideal for botanists, birdwatchers, cyclists and hikers – and anyone who would just like to see the “real Cyprus”.
If you eschew self-catering, many of the larger villages also have small hotels.

Camping Sites

If enjoying a twilight meal on a sandy beach and then stretching out beneath the stars to a symphony of night crickets sounds like your idea of heaven, a camping holiday might just be for you. Nature really comes alive when you experience it first-hand. What better way is there to commune with the outdoors than to pitch a tent and take in the beauty countryside?

Cyprus has several licensed campsites accommodating both tents and touring caravans. Most of the sites have showers, washing facilities, toilet blocks, snack bars/restaurants, and a mini-market within easy reach.

Coral Bay Camping Site

The camp site at Coral Bay, 11 kilometres north of Pafos, is close to Coral Bay beach and open all year with space for 47 tents or caravans. Facilities include electricity, warm showers and a restaurant.

Geroskipou Zenon Gardens Camping

This camp site is 3 kilometres from Pafos harbour at Geroskipou tourist beach and has a capacity of 95 tents or caravans. Open from April to October.

Polis Camping Site

Polis is 37 kilometres from the town of Pafos, and the camping site is situated on the beach in a eucalyptus forest just 500 metres from Polis town centre. It has space for 200 tents, toilets, showers and washroom facilities for dishes etc. There is a launderette in the nearby town of Polis.
There is a snack bar on the beach and a mini market is open from June to August. Open from March till the end of October (sometimes longer if the weather permits).

A total of 10 picnic sites can be found in the State Forests area, which are managed by the Forestry Department. They provide all the basic facilities for daily excursions like barbecues: drinking water, tables and washrooms. The sites all have wheelchair access.
