Kato Pafos (Lighthouse Area)
As of the 22nd November 2005 this site was designated an SPA.
It consists of a small area north of Pafos castle and around the Pafos lighthouse. Cyprus Wheatear and Cyprus warbler breed at the site and the area is a key wintering ground for the Greater sand plover.
Problems:
Disturbance is the main threat to birds at this site as hundreds of tourists walk in the vicinity when visiting the coast and the nearby archaeological sites.
